The watermill house is in Dissay-sous-Courcillon which is a small commune of the Sarthe Department in the region of Pays de la Loire. The mill property is situated two minutes’ drive from the village centre just off the D338 main road about halfway between Le Mans and Tours. The village has an excellent boulangerie, Post office and a nurse’s surgery. A large supermarket, garden centre, pharmacy and newsagent are 5 minutes’ drive away.
The nearest town is Château du Loir which has a bustling Saturday market, a large indoor/outdoor swimming pool, several restaurants, bars and takeaway food shops. The Roman Catholic church of St Guingalois stands in the centre of the town with its 11th century crypt. The A28 autoroute toll is about 15 minutes’ drive from the property. The railway station at Château du Loir has a good train service between Tours, Le Mans and Caen with easy links to Paris.
