DESCRIPTION OF LOCALITY AND PROXIMITY TO SHOPS AND TRANSPORT

This detached French country house in the Loir Valley is situated within a 4-minute drive from the village of Marçon (72) where there is a bakers and a bar. A 5-minute drive from the house you find the Lac de Varennes leisure facility which is free of charge to Marçon residents in the summer with tennis, archery, fishing, sailing, canoe / kayaking, jet skiing, supervised swimming and a beach and bar. For food shopping, the closest supermarket is Leclerc a 10 minutes’ drive and there is a Lidl and Aldi near to it in Montval sur le Loir. La Chartre sur le Loir (10 minutes’ drive) is the closest small town which has everything you could need: bakers, fishmonger, butchers, post office, pharmacy, restaurants, several cafés/bars plus boutique shops and galleries. There is also an open-air public swimming pool (summer only), sports centre and the celebrated Hôtel de France known for the cars and drivers of the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Here you will find two supermarkets (Huit à Huit and SuperU). Primary and Secondary Schools (up to 16 years old) and the Lycées (17 to 18 years old) at Montval sur le Loir Loir with a bus service.

Within the area you will find the troglodyte caves of the wine makers of the appellation Jasnières and Côteaux du Loir wines. There is also a hot air balloon and helicopter ride service in the area. In a 15 minutes’ drive you will arrive at the second largest national forest in France with wonderful walks, cycle rides and horse trails. The Bercy Forest is renowned for the wood used to make wine barrels for Bordeaux wines and to repair Notre-Dame in Paris. There are several golf courses within an hour’s drive.
