Peaceful location in rolling countryside above the vineyards of Marçon (72) 10 minutes by car to La Chartre sur le Loir. La Chartre sur le Loir has everything you could need :  fishmonger, butchers, post office, pharmacy, restaurants, several cafés/bars plus boutique shops and galleries. There is also an open- air public swimming pool, sports centre and the celebrated Hôtel de France known for the cars and drivers of the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. There are two supermarkets (Huit à Huit and SuperU). Primary and Secondary Schools (up to 16 years old) and the Lycées (17 to 18 years old) at Chateau du Loir with a bus service.

Half way between Le Mans and Tours, 40km. 2 hours from the ferry port of Ouistreham near to Caen by autoroute. There is a train service 15 minutes away in Chateau du Loir to Le Mans and Tours for onward trains to Paris (53 minutes) or Lille for the Eurostar. The closest airport is at Tours (London Stansted, Dublin, Marseille, Marrakesh and  Porto).

Within the area you will find the troglodyte caves of the wine makers of the appellation Jasnières and Côteaux du Loir wines. The house owner has the right to access the nearby Lac de Varennes (50ha) free of charge in the summer (www.ville.marcon.fr) with camp sites, tennis, archery, fishing, sailing, canoe / kayaking, jet skiing, supervised swimming and a beach. There is also a hot air balloon and helicopter ride service in the area. 20 minutes away are the wonderful walks, cycle rides and horse trails in the Bercy Forest (the second largest national forest in France) renowned for the wood used to make wine barrels for Bordeaux wines. There are several golf courses within an hour’s drive.
