The nearest village with amenities is Courdemanche (3 minutes’ drive). There is a school bus to the secondary school and a daily bus to Le Mans.
Twenty minutes away is the town of La Chartre sur le Loir (famed for its connections with the Le Mans 24 hour race) where there is a bakers, a fishmonger, butcher, several cafes and restaurants, schools, hotel and a swimming pool. Close by there are the vineyards of the Jasnieres appellation wines and many winemakers willing to sell wine direct. Also not far away are campsites, fishing lakes, sports lakes, hot air ballooning, horse riding and the huge Bercy Forest for walks and cycle rides.
The house is halfway between the cities of Le Mans and Tours (45 minutes each way) and 2.5 hours from Paris by car. There is a train station 25 minutes away at Montval sur le Loir with connecting trains to the TGV train stations in Tours and Le Mans and an airport at Tours (London Stansted, Dublin, Porto…). There are golf courses at both Le Mans and Tours.
